Ozone therapy

Ozone-based procedures use a reactive form of oxygen. They should be distinguished from medical oxygen therapy, and their proposed use in cancer care requires careful scrutiny of evidence and risk.

01 / How it works

How Ozone Therapy works

Ozone contains three oxygen atoms rather than the two in the oxygen we breathe. Its chemical reactivity is the basis of proposed biological effects. A reactive effect or a change in a laboratory measurement does not establish a useful anticancer response.

02 / When it is considered

When this treatment may be considered

Before considering an ozone procedure, ask for its exact route, purpose, and supporting clinical evidence. The word ozone covers different procedures whose risks cannot be treated as interchangeable.

03 / Your treatment session

What to expect

Clarify the proposal
Ask what is administered or treated, what equipment is involved, and what clinical outcome is intended.
Discuss uncertainty
Request evidence for people with your condition and the same procedure, rather than relying on general claims about oxygen.
Compare alternatives
Discuss established options for the symptom or problem and the consequences of delaying prescribed cancer care.

Your care at Verita Life

Any discussion at Verita Life should start with your diagnosis and current treatment. Tell the team about previous ozone procedures and any symptoms afterwards. The proposal should be explained as an individual clinical decision, not as a routine requirement for all patients.

05 / Evidence

What does the evidence show?

An established cancer-treatment benefit has not been demonstrated for ozone therapy. US FDA regulations describe ozone as toxic and do not recognise a useful medical application. This is a US regulatory reference, not a statement of local approval or availability.

06 / Risks and limitations

Risks and limitations

Inhaling ozone can damage the lungs. Other routes require their own risk assessment and should not be described as safe because they avoid inhalation. Ask about procedure-specific adverse effects, oversight, and access to urgent medical care.

07 / Questions

Questions patients ask

Is ozone the same as oxygen therapy?

No. Ozone is chemically different from oxygen used for breathing support or in a hyperbaric chamber. Evidence for those treatments cannot be transferred to ozone.

Does a detox reaction mean it is helping?

No. Feeling unwell is not evidence of benefit and should be reported and assessed.
