Organ support during cancer care

01 / Overview

About Organ Support

Conventional cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy can take a significant toll on the human body, especially if the patient has received treatment over an extended period of time.

At Verita Life, we provide Organ Support as part of a wider approach to integrative cancer care. We will design the program around your current health status and condition, with particular attention given to maintaining healthy function for the body’s essential organs, including the liver, kidneys, bone marrow, and nerves, during or after chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

We don’t treat Organ Support as something separate from cancer care; we incorporate it into your treatment plan to give you the best chance during and after your conventional treatments.

02 / Areas of Focus

How Organ Support works

Our Organ Support programs provide support for the areas of the body most susceptible to damage from conventional cancer treatments.

Liver support The liver plays an important role in processing substances within the body and is one of the organs specifically considered within Verita Life's Organ Support programme.

Kidney support Kidney health is another area of focus, particularly when patients are undergoing intensive treatment, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Bone marrow support Verita Life includes the bone marrow within its Organ Support approach. We recognise the importance of supporting your bone marrow during and after cancer care, and we provide supportive care to ensure your bone marrow maintains healthy function and recovers from the treatment itself.

Nerve support Our program also considers the nerves as part of its wider focus on maintaining healthy organ function.

03 / When it is considered

When this treatment may be considered

At Verita Life we provide organ support to patients who are currently receiving intensive cancer therapies, as well as after treatment has finished. Our approach is to monitor the patient and provide supportive measures where appropriate for their needs and circumstances.

This may include paying closer attention to exercise, nutrition, and supplementation and allowing the body to rest between treatments.
