Vitamin C is one of the most well-established traditional antioxidants known to man and its potent health benefits, especially for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases have been clearly demonstrated over time.

Research has also shown that Vitamin C is selectively cytotoxic to cancer cells when administered intravenously (IV) in high doses, and has a number of heart- and cardiovascular benefits.

It has been found that Vitamin C is selectively cytotoxic to cancer cells when administered intravenously. It is more effective at stopping cancer cell growth than common pharmaceuticals.

Cancer stem cells are the seed to the multiplication of cancer cells. These stem cells are the root cause of chemotherapy resistance. This resistance leads to treatment failure in patients with advanced conditions of cancer.

How does Vitamin C Kill Cancer Cells?
To effectively kill cancer cells, there need to be a very high concentration of Vitamin C in the blood. The only way to obtain these extreme levels is through Intravenous (IV) administration. Using oral liposomal Vitamin C can achieve the same results at a fraction of the cost, as well as improved convenience.

The mechanism behind Vitamin C’s ability to selectively target cancer cells has to do with the generation of hydrogen peroxide, which is ultimately what kills the cancer cells.

Promising New Study
In a new study conducted at the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Iowa, researchers were able to understand further how high dosage Vitamin C kills cancer cells. Vitamin C breaks down easily, generating hydrogen peroxide, which can damage tissue and DNA.

In the same study it was observed that tumour cells are much less capable of removing the damaging hydrogen peroxide component than normal cells. A very high level of Vitamin C does not affect normal tissue, but can be damaging to tumour tissues. The high level of hydrogen peroxide present when Vitamin C is introduced into the bloodstream kills Cancer stem cells.

Why aren’t normal (healthy) tissues not harmed by the presence of high levels of hydrogen peroxide? This is because healthy tissues have effective ways of eliminating it, hence preventing a build up to toxic levels.

Vitamin C helps to eliminate and kill cells with certain genetic mutations. It also can help to slow the growth of Prostate, Pancreatic, Liver and Colon Cancer cells.

Vitamin C can also be used to help improve symptoms associated with cancer and cancer treatment, such as nausea, fatigue, vomiting, and loss of appetite, as well as improve overall quality of life.

Vitamin C is cheap, natural, non-toxic and readily available so to have it as a potential weapon in the fight against cancer would be a significant step.
